Nano Memory Card, the storage miniaturization
Until now, if we wanted to expand the memory of our smartphone, the choice was the use of a good Micro SD card . However, this is long, we know that Google does not like this kind of solutions; and has removed them from their devices.
Little by little, the other manufacturers have been acquiring the same idea: delete the slot to expand the memory of our device. Others used ingenious solutions, using the tray for the Nano SIM card, giving the option to use two Nano SIM cards or a MicroSD together with a Nano SIM
And now Huawei arrives giving a new twist, introducing a new storage format called NM Card or Nano Memory Card . Basically they are memory cards the size of a Nano SIM card.
This makes the reduction in size 45% compared to the size occupied by a MicroSD card. On the storage capacity, until now we know that they can hold up to 256 GB . And regarding the transfer speeds, everything points to that they will have a limit of about 90 MB / s , so they would comply with the A1 standard recommended in Android.
It remains to be seen if this new format will own Huawei or be the new storage standard , leaving behind the popular MicroSD for this new smaller card. A step forward to make slimmer designs of the next devices that will come.
